New Song
"Going Nowhere"

Driven by crushing punk riffs, melodic synthesizers, and an explosive voice, ORAEN (“oh-ray-en”) aims to carve out a distinct presence in Canadian alt-rock. Created and fronted by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Roane, ORAEN’s debut EP “ARC ONE // DISARRAY” was quietly released in 2022 from a bedroom studio in Mississauga, Ontario.

Coming out swinging on the spring 2026 EP “ARC TWO // PROPHECY X FAILURE”, Roane has defined ORAEN’s anthemic sound, solidifying a place among music that is larger than life. Mixed at Toronto’s Dreamhouse Studios, ARC TWO is forceful and energetic in both its evolving instrumentals and lyricism. With high-octane guitars, wicked screams, and mighty synth leads; the tracks make a statement that challenges the current social landscape. Roane is not afraid to
call out the apathy and hypocrisy of modern-day politics on tracks such as “Going Nowhere” and “A.R.S.” or explore the depths of grief and loss in songs like “After All” and “You Are”. Still, nothing better captures ORAEN’s burning protest of a middle finger in the air than the title track “prophecy&failure”, as Roane screams “I am not your prophecy”.

Michael Roane first picked up a guitar at age 9 and spent his teen years fronting local bands and playing Rise Against and Our Lady Peace albums front-to-back. He currently fronts a local funk rock band and regularly plays at open jams around the city. While channeling his punk-rock heart into blistering vocals in ORAEN, he is also a classically trained vocalist. With ARC TWO’s release on the rise and a full band in tow, ORAEN is the culmination of Roane’s years of
accomplished musicianship.
