New Single
"Had It"
Out of the ashes of three young lifetimes of ambition, love, failure, success and a million and one PBRs comes Dumb Crush.
Fronted by Owen Hooper (Bass, Vocals) and rounded out by songwriters Liam Colbert (Drums, Vocals) and Elliott Isaac (Guitar, Vocals), the band formed in 2024 in a warehouse studio in Toronto, Canada.
Their single “Had It” frantically sees the band wash up on the shores of their own misgivings. The single was featured on CBC Q with an interview by Tom Power.
Entirely self-produced and written in late night fugue sessions between tours in 2025, Dumb Crush serves “Had It” as a hint of what’s to come for new music from the three piece.
The band’s debut EP “What’s Gotten Into People?” was recorded entirely live off the floor over two days at Dream House Studios in Toronto.
Their lead single “Witches In The Dark” has landed support from SiriusXM The Verge, CBC Radio, Sportsnet’s Hockey Night In Canada, Line of Best Fit, DORK, Exclaim! Magazine and garnered over 250k streams on Spotify.
This propelled them to play festivals and sold-out shows in their hometown of Toronto and headline dates across Eastern Canada that were fueled as much by fans from the TikTok as they were by Dumb Crush’s inherent need to tear the roof off every room they can get their hands on.
Less than a year into their tenure, Dumb Crush was hand picked to support multi-platinum artist Grandson across Canada in iconic venues like Commodore Ballroom, MTelus, Burton Cummings Theatre and The Phoenix.
This tour came alongside their sophomore EP “Get Up And Go” which the band reissued onto vinyl as a double release with the debut “What’s Gotten Into People.”
“What’s Gotten Into People?” sees the band navigate a fever dream of the dregs of our time on this planet, forced to survive with shoebox condo capitalism and the devastating weight of nostalgia.
In a world whose signals grow louder and louder, a place that provides only questions, Dumb Crush has found a cure for what’s been tearing us limb from limb, and heart from heart.
