Street Pharmacy was established in 2006 by Métis singer, guitarist and primary songwriter, Ryan Guay. After receiving treatment for an acute case of encephalitis, Guay was left with the unusual ability to prolifically write, compose and produce music. Street Pharmacy mixes together the honesty of 90s alternative rock, reggae grooves and lightning fast lyrical flow reminiscent of golden age hip hop to forge a unique blend of reggae-rock that has kept their fans enthralled for nearly two decades. Street Pharmacy as a 4 -7 piece reggae rock outfit have released five full-length albums and have played over 500 shows across Canada since its inception. The 20 song concept record Delusional Discourse includes the track “Stoned;” a lyrically assessment of weekend warriordom spread across a musical collage of 90s golden age samples, orchestral arrangements and 70s Rhodes keyboards. Street Pharmacy’s currently working in the studio on newest album, Forever Hooked. The current live line-up includes all original members and the addition of Vincent Sirianni on keys. They are planning a tour of the Northeastern United States and Southern Ontario, Canada in May–June of 2025 with fellow reggae-roots band and collaborators Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad.
